I recently used Augment Code in my daily development work, and this platform, powered by Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4 model, truly offers a refreshing experience. Its codebase context engine is incredibly powerful, capable of real-time identification of dependencies, call chains, and even providing refactoring suggestions and performance optimization tips, saving me considerable time when reading and maintaining large projects.
The built-in real-time code analysis feature is also remarkably stable—it instantly identifies potential issues, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities, running checks before each commit, which is quite reassuring. The IDE integration experience is smooth as well; there’s no need to switch windows to access auto-completion, comment generation, and contextual suggestions.
Worth mentioning is its “checkpoint” feature: every change has a snapshot that can be rolled back at any time, providing more security than typical undo functionality.
However, there is one minor drawback—the minimum usage threshold of 50 USD is a bit expensive for individual developers like me, especially for occasional use. Nevertheless, considering the overall experience, it’s still quite an excellent tool.
